CURRENT VRT SYSTEM
Our current system is based on the engine size of our vehicles:
| A1 Cars up to 1,400cc |
: 22.5% of Open Market Selling Price |
| A2 Cars up to 1,401 to 1,900cc |
: 25% of Open Market Selling Price |
| A3 Cars over 1,900cc |
: 30% of Open Market Selling Price |
NEW VRT SYSTEM – 1st JULY 2008
From 1st July 2008, a fully CO2 emissions related VRT system will take effect.
The VRT rate, applicable to new & used car, registered on or after the 1st July 08, will be determined by the CO2 emissions rating of the car.
A seven band system: – A to G – will apply
7 VRT rates, ranging from 14% to 36%, depending on the car emission level, will be applied to the Open Market Selling Price of the car.
